COUNTDOWN HAS STARTED

CAVEAT: I still need to get final confirmation* and will update here when I do.

Last I heard from the Mover Guys is that they’ll start the move around 1am (Friday) — sorry, that should be 0100 hours.

Confirmed now that they are on schedule, so:

3:54 pm — T minus 9 hours, or so.

Ready to roll…………………………………………………………………………………..

…………………………… and up till that moment, here was my little house, up on its cribbing (think stack of Lincoln-logs), waiting patiently. This shot was taken a while back; the gray garage has long since gone to its home.

“Wait,” you speak up. “What’s that thing sticking off the peak?” It’s how the house movers prep the house, to make sure they don’t snag anything overhead as they cruise down the road. Like a cow catcher, but up in the air.

So, while we’re waiting for confirmation on the move, you could Google up a couple house-movers websites and see more (better) examples of this simple but effective strategy.

More soon, I promise….

* what could still throw it off? In this case, not the weather, but ‘whether’ there’s a state trooper interested in grabbing an overtime shift to escort my house down the road. C’mon guys, it’ll be fun!
